Rukungiri candidates report threats and destruction of campaign posters and billboards

At a press conference at her home in Rukungiri Municipality, PFF parliamentary candidate Ingrid Turinawe said she had received threatening messages from a rival, had been followed home, and that her campaign posters and three billboards at the Rukungiri town roundabout had been destroyed or removed, and asked police for protection. According to the Daily Monitor, posters of other candidates from PFF, NRM and an independent were also reportedly defaced; police said investigations were under way.
