Rukungiri High Court allows withdrawal of petition against Rujumbura MP Jim Muhwezi

The High Court in Rukungiri, presided over by Justice Susan Kanyange, granted PFF candidate Fred Turyamuhweza leave to withdraw his petition against the election of NRM's Jim Muhwezi as Rujumbura County MP, according to ChimpReports. The court awarded costs to the Electoral Commission; the petition, filed on 1 April, had alleged irregularities in the January 2026 election.
