According to The Independent, the biometric machine at Spire Road polling station in Jinja's Southern Division failed to re-scan ballots at counting; the operator said more than 53 of 200 ballots were rejected. Officials suspended the count for about two hours to seek guidance, angering voters who voiced suspicion of rigging, before Jinja City Returning Officer Flavia Nakasi authorised a manual count.
