Local Government Minister Balaam orders arrest of Tororo officials over alleged corruption

According to the Daily Monitor, Local Government Minister Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi ordered the arrest of several Tororo District and Municipal Council officers during his anti-corruption tour, citing alleged PDM irregularities, ghost workers on payrolls and misuse of road and water funds. Those reported arrested include the district inspector of schools, the municipal physical planner, a community development officer, the municipal procurement officer, the Magodes Town Council LC3 and the municipal engineer; the minister also ordered an audit of road funds.
