Taxi operators in Tororo and Malaba strike and march to RDC over unregistered passenger vehicles

According to the Daily Monitor, taxi operators in Tororo and Malaba refused to load passengers and marched to the Resident District Commissioner's office, demanding action against unlicensed vehicles carrying passengers, which they said were undercutting them. Commuters were stranded at the Tororo and Malaba taxi parks until the district security committee, led by RDC Hajj Sadiq Bategana, met the operators; the RDC said patrols against unlicensed drivers had been intensified and warned that blocking roads is illegal.
