Tororo High Court sets 30 October ruling date in Tororo Municipality MP election petition

According to the Daily Monitor, High Court Judge Rosemary Bareebe Ngabirano, sitting in Tororo, set a schedule for written submissions and fixed 30 October for her ruling on NRM candidate Yeri Apollo Ofwono's petition against the election of MP Shyam Jay Tana. Ofwono alleges violence, intimidation, arrests of his supporters and irregularities in the declaration of results; Shyam denies the allegations and has asked the court to dismiss the petition.
