Masaka court dismisses NUP's Nanyondo application for vote recount in Bukomansimbi Woman MP race

Masaka Chief Magistrate Abert Asiimwe dismissed an application by incumbent NUP Woman MP Veronica Nanyondo for a recount at seven polling stations, ruling that the court lacked jurisdiction and that the matter belonged before the High Court as an election petition, according to the Daily Monitor. Nanyondo had alleged that results were altered on the tally sheet; NRM's Ruth Katushabe, declared winner by 206 votes, argued the tally sheet relied on was unverifiable. Nanyondo said she would go to the High Court.
