Police driver and Bukomansimbi OC injured in clash with NUP supporters in Masaka town

Police said a police driver who had transported anti-riot personnel was attacked by youths and a Bukomansimbi police commander was hit on the leg by stones, as security forces clashed with NUP supporters holding processions after Robert Kyagulanyi's nomination. Greater Masaka police spokesperson Muhammad Nsubuga said suspects had been arrested. Eyewitnesses told The Observer the driver was stoned after he was seen mistreating suspects being loaded onto a police pick-up.
