Tororo court dismisses Otaala's vote recount application in West Budama County South

The Chief Magistrate's Court in Tororo dismissed with costs an application by incumbent MP Dr Emmanuel Otaala Otiam (Independent) for a vote recount, after he alleged rigging, violence and the exclusion of his agents in Osia sub-county. According to the Daily Monitor, NRM's George Oketcho had been declared winner with 12,259 votes to Otaala's 11,428; Otaala said he would file a petition in the High Court.
