Tororo leaders demand accountability for Shs1 billion road maintenance funds in Tororo Municipality

According to Nile Post, the Tororo District Roads Committee and local leaders say Shs1 billion allocated to Tororo Municipality for road maintenance last financial year produced no visible works, including Shs200 million earmarked for the Tororo General Hospital road. Woman MP Sarah Achieng Opendi alleged the money had been misappropriated, and the committee called on the State House Anti-Corruption Unit to investigate. Municipal officials did not comment.
