Tororo market vendors protest at municipal offices over rent and taxes

According to the Daily Monitor, vendors of Tororo Modern Central Market held several demonstrations, including one at the Tororo Municipal Council offices on 3 December 2025, demanding lower rents for lock-ups, stalls and pitches and the cancellation of arrears. The vendors said current charges were too high for their businesses to survive.
